Why Do I Feel Trans? Understanding Your Identity As A Trans Woman.
I bet you 5 cents every, time someone has asked me why “I Identify as Trans”. I always tell people its not about choosing to be trans , its about the deeper feeling that comes with it and let me explain. From a young age , normally children are very perceptive on a lot of things that adults cant really put a finger on. I remember when I was younger , I never once identified myself as a “Man”. That was until I reached a certain age and my parents started to educate me on what it means to be male and female. Even with my parents giving me a bit of guidance. I still felt a bit off , like something was missing. Now I have some questions for you.
Questions
Would you Say being Trans is genetic ?
Did you ever feel like a girl , even without the labels from an early age?
Do you wish your parents would have educated you a bit better on the topic?
Lastly, Do you wish that life would treat trans women better?
Answering The Big Question
Why Am I Trans? You weren't just made to be trans my dear , you were born to be trans. Let me break it down for you. One thing I realized about being trans is that its not really a feeling like “sadness, anger or happiness”. Its kinda like when birds get ready to migrate to the north , not because they know its getting cold. Its due to them having this sense of calling to do so. No one really chooses to be Trans , the only choice you make is choosing to embody who you always were. To clarify what I mean , being trans is a inner calling , and I mean more or so on the spiritual level. Yes I understand being born a woman is spiritual , physical and mental. Now this is where it gets good. What if I told you that women come in all different shapes, sizes and colors. Now of course your wondering “duur of course women come in different shapes and sizes”. Trans women were always women, even though some of us were born with male gentiles that doesn’t label us in the category as men. Let me further explain, body parts doesn’t dictate weather your male or female.
Now hold on because I know y’all like to tussle. Gender labels were only made up due to the fact that people in power needed labels to control the population, of people who embraced and questioned the very idea of normal. Now let that sink in. As you know we as humans are constantly changing emotionally, spiritually and physically. This further goes back to what I saying before in my last post “Becoming Your Authentic Self” I stated ‘Not one Trans Woman is the same”. Meaning even the journeys and embodiment’s of ones self is different.
After living and experiencing life a bit , other trans woman have different reasons on why they transitioned and embodied who they really were. Now there reasons may be different , but it all boils down to that feeling we all had as a child. That feeling of something is missing , and that “missing sensation” doesn’t start until the world labels us in a box. Putting us in gender rolls , not even knowing that Trans Women were meant to be way more than that. Something far greater , and far unique than anything because Trans Women challenge the very ideas of “Normal”.
So for my fellow Trans Women , I love you all and know that you are trying your very best day by day so keep going. Believe in those ambitions and goals that hold so dear.
